Jan 082019

A dense fog advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Expect visibility of one-quarter of a mile or less at times.

Limited visibility will make travel very difficult tonight and into the early morning.

Drive with caution, do not use your high beams as they will only reflect on the fog.

If you are walking, wear reflective clothing if possible.

From The Road: Proceed With Caution

black-iceIf you MUST go out today, please proceed with caution.

The roads are getting increasingly slippery.

In Milford, you may find yourself sliding around corners if you’re traveling even 2 mph over the speed limit. The road conditions seem to improve as you cross into Orange, but it’s still slippery. Be sure to keep a safe distance between yourself and other cars at lights and intersections and as you are driving down inclines of any size.

Over in West Haven the roads are much like Milford with scary sliding and near collisions wherever you look.

As you travel further north the snow is actually accumulating, Hamden, Bristol, etc.

You know what this means. Wear your seat belts, as the police are looking for violations and face it, not everyone is as good at driving in the snow or on slippery roads as you are. Watch out for the other guy and be careful. Stay home if you can and bake a pie or two for Thanksgiving.
