Volunteers Still Need Volunteers For The Food Tent

Help is still needed in the food tent at the Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival, Thursday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 5.

Since putting a plea out last month Food Tent Coordinator Denise Mirto has seen a good response from those who are willing to help, but, volunteers are still sought to fill particularly the Saturday and Sunday openings.

If you are interested in giving of your time for a few hours, especially on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.. for the day shift or beginning at 4 p.m. for the evening shift.

On Sunday, help is needed beginning at noon, there is no evening shift that day.

Local businesses are invited to send teams of volunteers- for example, Coldwell Banker – Orange volunteers on Thursday night and Weichert Realty – Orange comes in on Friday night.

Mirto said, “Remember, that aside from having a good time pitching in to help with your neighbors and friends, the Volunteer Fire Department also helps keep our town taxes lower.”

The Carnival begins next week, and it is the Fire Department’s major fund-raiser of the year.

To volunteer in the food tent, contact Denise Mirto to add your name: call 203-795-1080, feel free to leave a message or e-mail denise.mirto@gmail.com.
