For the second time this month, the Orange Police Department announced the passing of a former officer on its Facebook page.
RIP Rodger, and my condolences to his daughter Amy and all of his family and friends.
March 19, 1948 – December 8, 2020
In memory of our retired Lieutenant and friend. May he find peace and comfort in God’s loving arms. We will never forget him.
Rodger Addil was hired as a Supernumerary Officer on November 1, 1971, and was sworn in as a regular full-time officer on August 2, 1972. He was assigned as a Detective
in the Investigative Services Unit from July 1981 to August 1985. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in August 1985 and to the rank of Lieutenant in January 1991.
Rodger was assigned as the Lieutenant in command of the Investigative Services Unit in March 1996 until his retirement on April 15, 2000.
Among the several Department awards that Rodger received during his career was a Letter of Commendation for his work on a homicide investigation. Rodger will be sorely missed, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
