The Town of Orange has taken on the task of honoring a servant to the community for more than 34 years.

That person is Joe Blake who attended his last Orange Board of Selectman’s meeting on Nov. 13.

“Joe decided it was his time to step down from this position of honor after 34 years and we the Board of Selectmen will miss him,” First Selectman Jim Zeoli wrote.

This is why an open gala has been planned in his honor, to be held Jan. 31 at Grassy Hill Country Club.

The party runs from 6:30  to 10:30 p.m. The dinner choices will be Baked stuffed chicken breast, Baked scrod or Eggplant parm.

Cash Bar.

The cost is $60 per person and reservations can be made at the First Selectman’s Office in Town Hall or calling 203-891-4737 or 203-891-4738.

The town is  planning this to be a wonderful, non-partisan event open to everyone.

Proceeds will go to a charity of Blake’s choosing.
