Following is a press release from Jake’s Wayback Burgers:
Not on the Weight Watcher’s diet plan.
Jake’s Wayback Burgers will have its annual “Chowdown Showdown,” a burger eating contest on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. at participating locations, including the restaurant at 185 Boston Post Road, Orange.
Entry fee is $20 per qualifying round. Registration deadline is Aug. 5.
Contestants are challenged to devour the Triple Burger, a nine-patty tower with nine slices of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes in the fastest time. The winner at each location will win an iPad2 and will be entered in the Wayback Burgers Facebook video contest, “Why Wayback is Way better” for a chance to win $1,000 cash prize.
“The Chowdown Showdown is a tradition with our brand,” said John Eucalitto, president, Jake’s Franchising.
In addition to burgers, the restaurant offers milkshakes made the old-fashioned way by hand, using only fresh milk and hand-dipped ice cream. For variety they also offer marinated grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, and house-made chips.
