Screen Shot 2016-04-27 at 5.09.44 PMThe Orange Senior Center will host its 12th annual Pasta Festa! Dinner at the Grassy Hill Country Club, 441 Clark Lane, on Friday, May 27 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of this year’s Living Treasure Awards to three deserving Orange residents: Gail Nixon, Ginny Reinhard, and Pat Zeoli, who will be recognized for all of their hard work and community support for our town over the years.

Winners of the raffle will go home with some great prizes donated by individuals and local businesses.

Tickets are on sale at the Orange Senior Center for $30 per person.

Businesses and Individuals are asked to consider donating items for raffle baskets.

Ad space for the program is still available. Call the office at 203-891-4788 for details.

Screen Shot 2015-05-01 at 10.28.13 AMDon’t Forget, the annual Pasta Festa! will take place at a new location this year, the beautiful, Grassy Hill Lodge, 77 Sodom Lane, Derby, on Friday, May 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of this year’s Living Treasure Awards to Netti Bartocetti, Kevin Hadlock, and Al Pol.

Winners of the raffle will go home with some great prizes donated by individuals and local businesses.

Tables of 10 are available. If you wish to be seated with particular people, payment for the group must be made at the same time. Otherwise no one can guarantee that you will be sitting together.

Contact the Senior Center at 203-891-4784 if you would like to donate a prize for the raffle or would like to buy tickets.

Tickets are $20 per person.

This year, the festivities will take place at the Grassy Hill Lodge, 77 Sodom Lane, Derby on Friday, May 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets went on sale today, April 2 at $20 per person. Tables of 8 to 10 are available. (If you wish to be seated with particular people, payment for the group must be made at the same time. Otherwise there is no guarantee that you will be seated together.)

The event includes raffle prizes, dinner and presentation of the Living Treasure Awards.

Tickets are available at the Community Services Office at High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road.

pasta festaThe Orange Community Services/Senior Center presents its 10th annual Pasta Festa! dinner Friday, May 9 from 5 to 8 pm at the hall  of St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road.

The pasta and meatballs will be catered by Cusano’s. Members of the Board of Selectmen will be on hand to help serve the meal.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of this year’s Living Treasure Awards to Emma Cuzzocreo, Donald Lewis, & Elmer Manley.

Winners of the raffle will go home with some great prizes donated by individuals and local businesses.

Spring may seem a long time away, but it is time to submit your nomination forms for the 2013 Living Treasure Awards.

Every year residents nominate deserving community minded senior citizens to be added to the list of Living Treasures from past years at the Orange Senior Center Pasta Festa! Supper.

The Orange Community Services Department presents the awards to one or more residents who enhance the lives of others through their volunteer service.

Eligibility requirements are:

• The nominee must be a current resident who is at least 65 years of age.

• The nominee must have demonstrated positive actions to improve the quality of life for individual residents.

• The nominee must have contributed and continues to contribute time to enhance the Orange community as a whole.

• The nominee must have performed this work on a volunteer, unpaid, basis.

Some of those who have been honored in the past are Bob Drobish, Mary Jewell, Doc Whitney and Dorothy Berger Margaret Howland, Walter Bespuda, Bob Archambault, Hannah Clark Russell, Mary DeVito, Harry Jones, Lucy Scillia, Dr. Edmund Tucker, Albert “Skip” Clark, Bob DeFeo, Kevin Gilbert, Jack Barton, and Veronica Hendricks.

Also, Joseph Blake, Nancy Nyhan, Severio “Bob” Fodero and Joe Cuzzocreo.

Nomination forms can be found at the Town Hall, High Plains Community Center and other public buildings.

Fill out both sides of the form and return to Senior Services Coordinator Dennis Marsh by Friday, March 8.
