Meghan Howard scored 3 goals and picked up 2 assists to lead the Amity girls soccer team to a 5-0 shutout victory over West Haven Wednesday afternoon in Woodbridge . With that Southern Connecticut Conference inter-divisional victory over the Blue Devils, Coach Owen Quigley’s girls improved their record to 2-0-1.

Tara Ramirez (with Howard’s help) scored Amity’s first goal and Howard added an unassisted goal later in the first half. Following intermission, the Lady Spartans extended their lead with second half scores from Alexa Gibbs (assisted by Kate Simon), Howard (assisted by Dakota Kelly) and Howard (unassisted).

Amity outshot the 0-2-1 Westies 19-7. Lady Spartan netminder Zoie Reed made 5 saves in recording the shutout.
