Following is a message from Orange Recycling Chairman Mitch Goldblatt:

Thank you to Orange Recycling Committee Member Chris Prokop, Home Depot Manager Matt Hyatt, and Gerry, Ed, and Steve at the Transfer Station. As of mid-morning Friday, April 2, our Rac N Pack is back in place for collecting Plastic Bags and Wrap at the Transfer Station!

While we await Home Depot Corporate to approve the permanent shed, we will have this one (see photos). It is larger and sturdier than the last one. The “No Plastic Bags” sign with the right-hand arrow will soon be reattached to the railing in front of the bottle, can, and paper trailer.

The Transfer Station crew said that they would get someone next week to disassemble the “Plastic Bag” Sign (it was saved) from the bracket (which can’t be used on this shed) and most likely affix it to the left door.

For now, the left door will remain latched and closed at all times so that the sign will be visible and the door won’t break off.

So no more excuses! Plastic Bags and Plastic Wrap need to be separated and recycled in the Rac N Pack bag in the shed.

Thanks for your support and help in getting the word out to everyone.

Mitch

Orange Recycling Committee Chairman Mitch Goldblatt just announced that today at 11 a.m. the Home Depot Store Manager Matt Hyatt, along with his associate Pete, delivered a new shed for the Plastic Bag and Wrap recycling at the Transfer Station and Recycling Center.

With the help of Transfer Station Equipment Operator Gerry Butler, it was set up and ready to go within minutes.

“Please help spread the word and thanks to everyone for their patience,” Goldblatt said.

This is supposed to be a temporary structure as The Home Depot has the approval for a permanent structure, but that may still be several months away.
