steamboaDeane A. Allen, 70, resident of Orange and husband to Virginia Faia Allen, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born in Derby on November 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Howard K. and Thelma A. Allen. He was Vice President of Howard K. Allen Manufacturing for 45 years and after retirement worked for Home Depot in East Haven, CT.

Deane was also a past member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Elks Club1589. Deane graduated from Eli Whitney Technical School as a Master Tool and Die maker. He was also an accredited Master Model maker as well.

Deane was an avid steam boater and loved traveling to all the steamboat meets around the country and Canada. He was invited to participate in the Boston Antique and Classic Boat shows and was a member of the International Steamboat Society & Steamboat Association of Great Britain.

Deane also enjoyed his time as an amateur HAM radio operator and obtained the top license in the field. He also loved to repair things and building projects. He was a great man who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by two daughters, Kim SaNogueira (Michael) of Milford, Nancy Allen of Fairfield, and a son, David Allen of Milford; step-son William (Robbie) Robinson of North Carolina. Deane is also survived by his sister Deborah R. Allen (Lynne) of Guilford; four grandchildren, Samantha and Michael SaNogueira, Corinne Canedo, and Howard D.J. Allen.

Friends and Family may call on Tuesday March 11, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford CT 06460. Burial will be private. To leave online condolences, please visit our website.

Edward “Michael” Freda Jr., 60, of Orange, beloved husband of Jo-Ann Ginoni Freda passed away on June 10, 2012 at his home.

Loving father of Angelique, Michael, Tara and Ryan. Son of Kathryn “Sue” Burnett Freda and the late Edward M. Freda. Brother of Susan (Steve) Cimelli and Katherine and Curt Freda Grandfather of Gianna.

Son-in-law of Samuel M. and Shirley Ginoni. Brother –in- law of Samuel A. Ginoni.

At the time of his death Michael was the owner of the Freda Financial Group.

Michael was a graduate of the University of Maryland loved the Yankees and a Maryland Terrrapin fan.

The family would like to thank Dr. Walter Longo for his care and compassion shown to Michael during his brief illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service SATURDAY morning at 11:30 A.M. in Orange Center Cemetery.

THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held in the China Pavillion Restaurant 185 Boston Post Road, immediately following the service.
