On Thursday, July 2 the town announced the appointment of fire inspector Tim Borer as the new Deputy Fire Marshal.

Borer has been with the Orange Fire Marshal’s Office since January 2019. Prior to joining our team, Tim was with the New Haven Fire Department for more than two decades of decorated service to the city.

While all applicants were clearly qualified, Tim placed high after the application process was completed, First Selectman James M. Zeoli offered him the position, which Tim eagerly accepted.

We look forward to many years of faithful service to the town.

Congratulations Tim. You and Jamie will make a great team for years to come.

Firefighter Rich Williamson stands at attention during the service.

Every year, after the Memorial Day Parade, the Orange Volunteer Fire Department members gather at the end of the Firefighter’s Memorial at the far end of the Town Green for a private, solemn service and honor the deceased Orange firefighters.

The Rev. Ann Ritonia started things off with a prayer, then Chief Charlie Gagel said a few words.

Selected firefighters read the names of the late department members, then a wreath was laid in front of the stone.
