On Wednesday night, March 27 at around 10 p.m., Orange Police responded to a serious one-car motor vehicle accident on Racebrook Road (Rt. 114) near the Woodbridge town line.

Preliminary investigation shows that a 2008 Toyota Rav4 was traveling southbound on Rt.114 at a high rate of speed when the 25-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed the center line into the northbound lane before leaving the roadway and crashing into a tree.

The driver suffered life-threatening injuries and the Orange Volunteer Fire Department extricated her. There also was a 6-year-old passenger in the Toyota who was able to release his restraints and get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries.

The Orange Police crash reconstruction team responded to take over the investigation. The driver’s name is not being released at this time until the Department is certain that the driver’s family has been notified.

If anyone witnessed the crash or has any further information, please contact Lt. Raymond LaPlante at 203-891-2130, RF CN #19-9162.
