A night of dancing rounded out day five of the Amity Creative Theater kids’ trip to Scotland.

A group of talented Amity students are in Scotland, where they were invited to perform the play “Almost Maine” at the Fringe Festival. The kids, along with their chaperones, Director Rob Kennedy and Costume Designer Julie Chevan left Amity last Saturday afternoon. Their first performance is today, Friday, Aug. 17.

Kennedy reported on Day Five of their trip:

“Another great day today including the best weather day of the trip. Bright and sunny,” he wrote. “We had some touring and shopping time this morning plus some last minute prop gathering. After lunch back at the dorms we hit the Royal Mile hard to hand out flyers to drum up business for ‘Almost Maine.'”

He said the kids were great show salespeople and made thousand of new friends.

“We had dinner at the Underbelly and Gilded Ballon food trucks and went home. At 9 p.m. all of us had an amazing night of Scottish culture at a traditional Ceili dance,” Kennedy said. “The kids had the best night of the trip.”
