Orange Police confirmed the active arrest warrant and the CT State Police transported him to the Orange Police Department at 4:40 p.m.
According to the report, Velez was wanted for Issuing Bad Checks and fifth-degree larceny, stemming from an incident at Greyson’s Guns that occurred on Jan. 2, 2016 incident. He was taken into custody and charged.
Velez posted $500 bond and released with a court date of July 22.
There was an active police investigation on the I-95 Exit 41 N ramp around 9:30 p.m. til 11:00 p.m.
Because the incident occurred on the ramp it is a state police case and, although Orange officers assisted, any information will come from the state police.

You may have noticed more State Police out on the road over the Thanksgiving holiday. The CSP supplemented its regular patrols with additional troopers as part of Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort).
The effort began Wednesday, Nov. 27 and ran through Sunday, Dec. 1 at midnight with police targeting drunken, aggressive and unsafe drivers.
Uniformed troopers used nontraditional patrol cars to observe traffic and issued tickets to reckless, distracted drivers.

A tractor trailer hit the side of a tanker truck in the exit area behind the buildings.
The Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru and rear section were closed to traffic during the State Police investigation.
The tanker was unmarked, so the contents are unknown to us at this time.
