On Friday, Aug. 9 at 12:30 a.m. Orange Police Officers were completing a routine traffic detail on the Boston Post Road when they reportedly observed a motor vehicle proceeding erratically.

Police stopped the car, driven by Lashawna C. Cardoza, 31, of West Haven, and administered standardized field sobriety tests.

Cardoza was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

She was released on $50 bond for court on Aug. 23.

mace sprayOfficers were dispatched to the parking lot of Stop & Shop, 259 Bull Hill Lane, after a witness reported seeing an argument between two parties on Sept. 18 at 6:14 p.m. 

During the investigation, officers learned that Laquasha Johnson, 21, of 131 Pheasant Road, West Haven had seen a group of people in a vehicle, and she argued with them.

Shortly after the argument, she left, then returned to the other vehicle and sprayed a can of mace into it.

The people who had been sprayed left the area without speaking to officers.

Johnson was issued an infraction ticket charging creating a public disturbance for her actions.
