On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Amity Spartans Boys’ Ice Hockey Team hosted the Branford Hornets in West Haven.
Scooter Richetelli’s boys showed that determined take no prisoners spirit that we fell in love with at the beginning of the season and thoroughly dominated the ice.
Here’s a rundown of this game:
First Period
There was a lot of action out there, with both teams passing and shooting, but Amity was first to make it onto the scoreboard at 4:01 with #22 Dante Hardt shooting one in, assisted by #4 Josh Hackett, and #12 Cam Delvecchio.
Just three and a half minutes later, at 7:43, Hackett scored a goal, assisted by Delvecchio.
After a solid three minutes of back and forth, it was Delvecchio’s turn make his mark, assisted by #2 Will DelVecchio.

Second Period
Amity’s Eli Gregory #15, wasted no time in getting the fans charged up, when he slipped one into the net, assisted by AJ Capecelatro #16, just 5 seconds after returning to the ice.
In an extremely smooth move, Capecelatro scored on a power play at 2:27, assisted by Gregory and Ben Qian #25.

Third Period
The final period did not disappoint fans. Cam Delvecchio came out like gang busters and made an unassisted goal at 1:24.
Soon after, David Brown #17, scored his first goal of the game at 2:52, unassisted.
Moments later, at 3:17, Branford’s #25 Nic Michaud took the sting out of his team’s loss with their first goal, assisted by #21 Jack Linder.
This was a sweet 7-1 victory for the Spartans
