Wednesday Book Group: Dreaming in Cuban

Wednesday, October 16 at 1 p.m.

Of Cristina García’s Dreaming in Cuban, Time Magazine wrote, “Her story is about three generations of Cuban women and their separate responses to the revolution. Her special feat is to tell it in a style as warm and gentle as the ‘sustaining aromas of vanilla and almond,’ as rhythmic as the music of Beny Moré.” Copies of this National Book Award finalist are available to borrow at the Circulation Desk.

Children’s Make & Take: Trick or Treat Bags
Thursday, October 24, 5 p.m.
Get ready for Halloween by making your very own trick-or-treat bag! We’ll have bags for our first 48 participants, but you can also bring your own. Use patches, fabric markers, and Halloween stencils to make a custom bag. Join us in the Children’s Room!

Registration is not required, but bag supplies are limited and registrants will be prioritized.

Free book box service for adults.

Each month that you register you will pick up a box containing two hand-selected books for you to borrow as well as some other surprises for you to keep.

After registering, you should receive a confirmation email with a link to a Google Form. Please be sure to complete this form to finalize your registration and personalize your book box.

Please note:

You must register and complete the form each month you wish to receive a book box.

In order to receive your box, you must complete a brief form about your reading preferences so we can make your book selections. Please complete this form by October 15. A link to the form will be included in your confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email please check your SPAM folder.
