Mark Your Calendars! Here’s The New Date For The Orange Fireworks Extravaganza

As I stated in a post on July 6, a lot of work goes into planning the Independence Day Concert and Fireworks show and dozens of people from several town departments work hard preparing the fair grounds prior to the event.

When Mother Nature is in a mood and decides to rain on the festivities both on the scheduled date AND the rain date (she took it literally). Event organizer Rocky Salperto has to work extra hard to find an alternate date for the extravaganza that is open for the fireworks provider and appealing to those who usually attend the Fourth of July event.

Rocky sent us a notice yesterday that the shows would take place on Labor Day weekend, but… when?

Here’s the most up-to-date information from Salperto regarding the revamped plans:

The Town of Orange Annual Concert and Fireworks Show has been rescheduled. The event will take place at the Orange Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. A rain date has been held for Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day).

He is working on booking another band that will surely please a majority of the town’s music enthusiasts.

“We thank Legion Fireworks for cooperating with us to find alternative dates,” Salperto said. “Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
