Orange Police Thanksgiving Food Drive A Big Success

Orange police patchMembers of the Orange Police Department braved the cold on Friday to host a Thanksgiving Food Drive at ShopRite, 259 Bull Hill Lane, Orange, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

They asked that residents pick up a few non perishable food items during their shopping trip and donate them to support the Orange Town Food Bank.

At the end of the six-hour event the officers had completely filled the back of a large department pickup truck, that surely will fill the shelves of the food bank and help those Orange residents struggling with food insecurity.

Detective Bailey said she was so pleased with the response and the generosity of everyone who stopped by. “We got 12 frozen turkeys,” she exclaimed. “I didn’t even know we were looking for turkeys! The Community Services will be able to help a lot of families this year. We’re so grateful.”
