Orange Police: Suspected Prowling Catalytic Converter Thieves Brutalize, Rob Man At Farm

On Friday, May 20, at approximately 4:01 a.m., the Orange Police Department received a complaint of an assault and robbery at Fieldview Farm, located on Derby Avenue.
The complainant reported that when he exited the residence to milk the cows, he was approached by two unknown males wearing black face coverings.  One of the males was armed, with what he believed to be a black handgun, and he was struck in the head and face multiple times. The complainant suffered abrasions and contusions and was transported to an area hospital.
The suspects demanded money and stole his wallet from him before fleeing the area.
Located near vehicles parked in the area was a battery-operated Sawzall that is commonly used to cut catalytic converters from vehicles. It appears the complainant might have unknowingly interrupted a theft when he was robbed.
Ofc. Correia and Det. Ahern (RF Case #23-15535) are investigating the case.  Anyone with information is asked to call 203-891-2138.
