This note on the front door of Orange’s TGI Fridays restaurant left visitors scratching their heads on Thursday.

It appears that the Enfield Fridays already closed some time ago, and several others in surrounding states also have fallen victim to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
So what do you do with that gift card you received on your birthday if there are no other convenient locations?
Hearing of their fate, one local businessman quickly stepped up to help Friday’s patrons and possibly some of its newly unemployed workers.
Orange resident Jim Hassenmayer, owner of the Orange Ale House posted this on Facebook.
“Don’t let anybody kid you, it’s always a sad day when any business or especially a restaurant closes. They were a good player and a good competitor, but it is a sign of these times. Restaurant workers become a close-knit family.
Our deepest condolences to one of our in-town allies. It’s going to impact many people both the public and employees.
In the meantime, anybody who holds a TGI Friday’s gift card can redeem it at Orange Ale House with a limit of $25 per visit.
We are also looking to fill a few positions. Please apply in person.”
The Orange Ale House is located at 517 Boston Post Road, Orange, next to the former Bob’s Furniture Building. Stop by and meet the friendly staff and make yourself at home.
