Thank You To Two Local Businesses

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, I had a very busy day. The cable to my central air conditioning unit was damaged and needed replacement, so I called upon a reputable electrician and trusted friend Joe Oleschuk of Orange to do the job.

Working around my unpredictable schedule, he arrived on time and worked straight through until he completed the task.

At the very same time, I brought my shy, younger dog over to Zoey Girl Pet Services in Orange for a badly needed grooming. Hoku “Coconut” tends to matt easily, and it takes a lot of work to smooth her fur out, unlike my older dog who has hair and looks phenomenal after just a quick brushing.

I didn’t want to burden Mae, the groomer (business owner), so I didn’t demand that she leave Hoku’s fur long and fluffy. I fully expected to pick up a shaved pup, due to the amount of matting (in spite of my continued efforts to keep them at bay).

While I worked on the website and around the house, Joe worked on the wiring. I helped whenever I could and by noon I turned on the thermostat and like magic the AC clicked on — mission accomplished. After finalizing the bill, I received a text that Hoku was ready and headed back up to Zoey Girl to pick her up.

When I opened the door I was delighted to see my Disney Dog at full fluffiness, she was perfect.

Even though it would have been easier to just shave her, Mae knew that on Thursday my dogs and I had a portrait photo session scheduled and everyone had to look their best.

So, Orange residents, here are two fine examples of small businesses right within your town borders that offer excellent customer service and have great communication skills.

Thank you Joe and Mae for making my Tuesday a very good day indeed. Now, if only it wouldn’t rain all day on Thursday, so my pups and I could enter the studio nice and dry without looking like drowned rats.
