Something Familiar, Something Peculiar, Something for Everyone — A Comedy …
On Friday, July 10 at 7 p.m., for one night only, the Fieldstone Repertory Company presented the play of the year: “The Haunted House,” for Fieldstone residents only.
It was a comedy adapted and directed by Fieldstone’s own Jim Romano from a work by the Roman playwright Plautus (c. 200 BC) and is one of the oldest dramatic farces in history.
The play has a hilarious premise: while a rich father is away, his son parties nonstop, falls in love with a hooker, gets into debt, and tries to avoid getting caught by following the wacky schemes of his best friend.
Sound familiar? It inspired the movie Risky Business starring Tom Cruise and Broadway’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
A wild plot. A wild cast. A wild evening at Fieldstone.
