On January 7, the SCC Commissioner posted the following announcement regarding its December Athlete of the Month on the Southern CT Conference website:
Ivy Massicotte, ice hockey, Amity Regional/The Blades
A sophomore goaltender, Ivy recorded a 4-2 record during the month of December with an impressive 1.33 goals against average and two shutouts. Ivy recorded a .939 save percentage in the six games. She recorded back-to-back shutouts against Ridgefield (Dec. 23, 18 saves) and Hamden (Dec. 28, 23 saves) to close out the month.
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. It is the third year that j.roo’s has sponsored the Athlete of the Month award. Each recipient (male and female) receives a certificate and a $25 gift card to j.roo’s.
