Another Lovely Thanksgiving Dinner With The Orange Lions

Every year, the members of the Lions Club of Orange provide a Thanksgiving Dinner at High Plains Community Center. On Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 12 p.m. the gymnasium was transformed into a dining room and hungry residents were greeted by event chairman Michael Muttitt and immediately served bread and butter and drinks, then garden salad, while they waited for their full-course meal of turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and cranberry sauce.

Members of the Lions Club, Scouts and other volunteers scuttled about from the kitchen to the dining room, taking requests for extra bread, another salad, a coffee or soda. All while Craig Calistro played the holiday classics from the stage overlooking the crowd.

The dinner is open to everyone free of charge, but their target guests are the town’s elders, shut-ins, and all those in need of good food and fellowship. This year there were 90 registered guests with 32 home delivery requests.

Lions member Lexi Crocco took photos of the guests throughout the event.

Well done, everyone.
