The Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival opens next Thursday at the Orange Fairgrounds, 525 Orange Center Road.
This is the OVFDs biggest fundraising event of the year and the men and women of the department depend upon the community’s support here in order to be able to continue to provide the town of Orange the best service possible.
The money raised from raffle tickets and sales from the main food tent and Satellite food tent near the fence at Orange Center Road pays for equipment and training all year long.
The Carnival is open on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 5 to 11 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3 from 5 p.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, from noon to midnight, and Sunday, Aug. 5 from noon to 5 p.m.
The early weather forecasts are not looking too promising for much sunshine for this year’s event, but the forecast isn’t always spot on, especially so far in advance.
In the event of duck-loving weather, remember, the volunteers will be out in full force cooking food and selling raffle tickets under the tent across from the main food tent (Pavillion). Parking and admission are free, so you can still support the OVFD by having dinner and investing $5 in a raffle ticket (Top prize is a $7,000 Visa Gift Card!)
