Attention: COVID Test Kit Distribution On Thursday, Jan. 6

The Town of Orange will be distributing COVID-19 test kits at the High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road this Thursday, Jan. 6, starting (NO EARLIER THAN) 12 p.m. until supplies are exhausted.

These kits are for Orange residents ONLY and are being provided free of charge by the State of Connecticut. These kits are in limited supply one (1) kit per auto (2 tests per Kit) and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. NO EXCEPTIONS.

This will be a drive through pickup with autos entering the south driveway (near the high-tension wires) and driving all the way around to the pickup point near Orange Center Road. Personnel will be available to queue the cars and direct you to the pickup point.

Please be prepared to provide an ID showing you are a Orange resident. Do not leave or park your car, a kit will be handed to you while you are in your car.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY.

Editor’s Note: Milford had TWO pickup locations and BOTH attracted unbearable traffic backups. So, before you venture out think about how much your really NEED or WANT the kits. And if your wait is so long that you are irritable by the time you reach a volunteer, please treat them with gratitude and respect. If you can’t do that, then just go to the pharmacy and buy kit for $20.

Opinion: If you are double vaccinated and boosted, even the dreaded Omicron variant may likely hit you just like the flu. Refuse to get vaccinated or wear a mask, then you are facing the same risks that you were two years ago.
