Boys Lacrosse: Amity Had A Tough Time Keeping Up With Notre Dame-West Haven

The Amity Spartans Boys Lacrosse Team was on the road for a match-up against the Green Knights at Notre Dame – West Haven on Monday afternoon.
The Spartans showed their skills in the first quarter, leading the Greenies 3-2, but then Notre Dame took over the game, in the second, scoring five goals to Amity’s one, taking a 7-4 lead.
Amity made plenty of shots and hit the rim several times, or saw goalie Khorbin Kern snatch the ball before it went in, preventing them from scoring in the third. Notre Dame netted three goals, advancing to a 10-4 lead.
The Green Knights continued their assault on Spartans Goalie Dane Walsh, making four more goals in the final quarter, but Amity was able to score one last goal in the fourth, ending the game at 14-5 Notre Dame.
Harrison Blume, Adam Cusano, Jay Perrotti, and Chris Bierezovic each scored for the Spartans.
Notre Dame-West Haven’s Ben Hassen led the Green Knights to victory with 5 goals and 2 assists.
Both of the Goalies fought hard during this battle. Amity’s Dane Walsh made 18 saves. Khorbin Kern made 15 saves for Notre Dame.
Records: Amity 5-10, Notre Dame 9-6.
