Case Memorial Library October Offerings

The Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, offers the following for children, tweens, teens and adults in October.
Outdoor Concert: Yale Citations A Cappella Group
Saturday, October 9, 2 p.m.
An amalgamation of future scientists, doctors, nurses, artists, lawyers (and more!), The Citations is the a cappella group of the graduate and professional schools at Yale University. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. This program will be held outside on the Library’s back lawn. Please bring your own chair, wear a mask, and maintain social distancing.

Take & Make Kit: Felted Wool Acorns
Tuesday, October 12
For adults and teens in grades 7-12. Learn a basic technique for working with wool roving and create a fun decoration for fall using real acorn caps. Most supplies will be provided. Participants will need to supply a two bowls, hot water, and dish soap. Registration will end Saturday, October 9. Kits will be available for pickup at the Adult Reference Desk from Tuesday, October 12 through Saturday, October 23.

Tween Take and Make: Pumpkin Patch Snack
Tuesday, October 12
For tweens in grades 4-6. Make an autumn-themed snack to enjoy! Participants will be using mellowcreme pumpkins (contains egg), green licorice, chocolate pudding, and oreos. Mellowcreme pumpkins will need to be refrigerated after pickup. Registration is required.

Family Take & Make Kit: Butterbeer
Monday, October 18
For families of all ages. One kit per household. Create homemade butterbeer for your family with this tasty take-home kit. All supplies will be provided. When registering, please register for one kit for your household under the name of the person who will be picking up the kit. Fill out the number of people in your household by age group so we can provide the correct amount of ingredients for your kit. Registration will end Thursday, October 14.

Teen Take & Make Kit: Pumpkin Carving
Monday, October 18
For teens in grades 7-12. Pick a pumpkin from our indoor pumpkin patch and choose your carving kit: undead pumpkin or starry night pumpkin! Pumpkins and supplies needed to complete the design will be provided. Participants must supply carving tools. Registration will end Thursday, October 14. Pumpkins and kits will be available for pickup from Monday, October 18 through Saturday, October 23. Please inquire at the Adult Reference Desk.

Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale
Saturday, October 23, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.Books, DVDs, music, and more for all ages! Held in the Library basement. Masks are required.
