Connex Credit Union Collecting Items for Families in Need Through Dec. 23

Basic household necessities and toiletries requested to support those transitioning out of homelessness

During a year that has been extremely difficult on many families, Connex Credit Union (212 Boston Post Road, Orange) is partnering with Christian Community Action to support those in need this holiday season. From now through Wednesday, Dec. 23, the credit union will be collecting donations of basic household items to help homeless families transition into new apartments at Hillside Family Center in New Haven.

Collection bins will be stationed inside the credit union branch and anyone can participate. You do not need to be a member of the credit union to contribute.

In addition to monetary and gift card donations, the following items are requested:

Kitchen/Pantry

  • Dishes
  • Glasses
  • Flatware
  • Pots/Pans
  • Dish Soap
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Mops/Cleaning Supplies

Toys

  • Children’s Books
  • Action Figures & Dolls
  • Board Games and Card Games (Ages 3-12)
  • Coloring Books and Crayons
  • Arts & Crafts (Ages 5-10)

Bedroom

  • Pillows
  • Comforter Sets (Full/Twin)
  • Extra Sheets and Pillowcases
  • Socks

Bathroom

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Body Wash/Soap
  • Towels/Washcloths
