A woman on Peck Lane let her dog outside to do his “business” in the pre-dawn hours, Saturday morning.
A short time later she heard a disturbance in the yard, and saw a coyote attacking her pet.
The coyote took off, and the woman brought her wounded dog to the vet for treatment. Luckily he is up-to-date on his rabies vaccination and only needed a booster shot.
He’s now relaxing at home.
The area of the attack was on “the other side” of the Boston Post Road — near Raymour and Flanagan and Trader Joes Shopping plazas.
As always, keep your eyes on your pets when they go outside. This dog fought back, but smaller dogs and cats can be carried away by a hungry coyote.
