COVID vaccines are a mitigation strategy to make sure that our school community is protected from COVID and that our students and staff are able to have a smooth and uninterrupted school year.
Asymptomatic students who are vaccinated and identified as close contacts do not have to quarantine and can continue their in-person learning and in-person extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
We hope families who have not yet had their student vaccinated take this opportunity to access a COVID vaccine. For an overview of COVID vaccines for children, including information about the Pfizer vaccine product, click here.
To read an interview about COVID 19 vaccines with a Connecticut-based pediatrician who is also the President-Elect for the Connecticut chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, click here. In addition, we encourage families to consult with their pediatricians.
All students and staff who want to get vaccinated at Amity’s clinic on September 23rd and October 14th are welcome to do so. This is a walk-in clinic for students and staff – no appointment is necessary.

- Students ages 12-17 do NOT need a parent/guardian present, but must present a fully completed and signed consent form prior to receiving a vaccination.
- Parents/guardians can attend the appointment with a 12-17 year old student and complete the consent form at that time.
- Students ages 18 and older can complete their own consent form.
Thank you for everything you are doing to keep yourselves, your students, and your community safe. Sincerely,
Amity Superintendent Jenn Byars
