The spring paper shredding, etc., event took place at High Plains Community Center on Saturday, April 22.
Orange Live gave you a peek at the multiple events last weekend, but it wasn’t until today that we received the final totals. Although we DID know that there were 27 mattresses this year.
In the shredding truck and the extra van that contained Orange residents’ paper documents, 13,000 pounds or 6.5 tons of paper were hauled away.
According to Orange Recycling Commission Chairman Mitch Goldblatt, “There were 118 vehicles from Orange that participated in the HazWaste Disposal program, compared to 147 the first time.”
All told the day was well organized and it helped all of you to properly dispose of paper, mattresses, old prescription medications, household goods, and hazardous waste materials.
