As of 3:39 p.m. the UI has managed to get the outages in Orange down to 0.62% leaving just 40 customers without power.
Not much consolation for the 40 at the beginning of yet another heatwave and no way to stay cool at home. The air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups and most likely unbearable inside closed up houses.
You can go to the High Plains Community Center to cool down and to charge your phones and laptop computers. Also, the Orange Ale House for sure is open for social distancing indoor food service – and they have some really good food.
Call around to other restaurants to see who is open for indoor dining. There’s no need to suffer while you wait it out.

Good Luck everyone. As a senior, with several pre-existing conditions, I know how scary it is for family members of others like myself who worry about your welfare day in and day out during these uncertain times.
