Sometimes a busy schedule keeps us away from giving our pets an active, happy life. Now there’s a doggie daycare, training center in the heart of Amity.Located right next to the District Animal Control at 131-B Bradley Road in Woodbridge, Happy Homes Dog Daycare and Training facility is owned by Tracy Johnson, a well-known local veterinarian and dog trainer, and Kristen Iannucci, a certified veterinary technician.
Happy Homes has been open since May, and most of their business so far is by word-of-mouth, and growing by the day.
The pair is hosting an open house on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Woodbridge Selectman Joe Crisco will attend the ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. The entrance to the business is in the lower rear of the building, just look for the big “B” on the door.
The grounds are secure with tall fencing surrounding the outdoor play area, and safety gates at the entrance/exits inside. The dogs in their care are always supervised, so you can rest easy that your pet is well taken care of after you drop them off for the day.
Both the indoor and outdoor areas are clean (not a poop in sight) and have plenty of things for the dogs to climb on and prance around and keep them entertained.
Tracy is the head trainer, and Kristen runs the daycare and teaches classes. They use positive reinforcement training.
