Meet The 2022 Amity Spartans Baseball Team

Coach Sal Coppolla has a fantastic group of athletes on the Amity Baseball Team in 2022. The Amity Spartans are 7-0 (10-0 as of April 28) for the season — and that doesn’t include the pre-season scrimmage victories.

Parents say the boys have worked hard, from the pre-season to get into shape and every day in practices and on game days where they give their all.

They credit the coaching staff, namely head coach Sal Coppola, who will be inducted into the Amity Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 28.

For Coppola building a winning team begins at home and good players are good people first. The Spartans’ families are involved in their off the field lives, hosting dinners and get-togethers that help make the players and their family members one big happy community.

The Amity Spartans are a phenomenal group of young men on and off the field. If you have an opportunity to see the team play this season, do it. Chances are you will be witnessing the early games of this year’s state championship team. Yes, they are that good.

I applaud all the parents for their eager participation in their son’s character building activities, and I congratulate Coach Coppola on his upcoming Hall of Fame honor — you deserve it!

Go Spartans!

The Spartans have a tough matchup against Xavier on Friday Away at Palmer Field in Middletown at 7 p.m.
