Most Recent Update From The National Weather Service

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. on Tuesday (Groundhog Day) Feb. 2.
Expect heavy snow and be prepared for wet, slippery conditions as the snow may change to a light wintry mix tonight. We may get an additional accumulation of 11 to 15 inches with a light glaze of ice.
Winds may be gusting as high as 50 mph along the coast.
Travel will be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute.
Blizzard-like conditions are possible this morning into this evening.
Take it easy if you must go out and shovel on your own, especially if you are older. Dress warmly in layers and cover as much exposed skin as possible (Those Face Masks are priceless on days like this). and let me refer you to our story on proper shoveling technique in order to save your back. Shovel in shifts, every two hours or so, keep your back to the wind and come inside the moment you feel tired.
Teens and neighbors, if you see someone struggling with their cleanup get outside and offer to help, even if they don’t have the resources to pay you.
Limit your pets’ time outside – their paws can get frostbitten, so be aware of that.
Please be careful, watch for oncoming vehicles when you are near the street.
If you have a fire hydrant in front of your home, please include clearing around it in your shoveling routine.
Keep your laptops and cell phones charged in case there’s a power outage. Hunker down and take care.
