On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Amity Spartans Hockey Team was on the road at the Northford Ice Pavilion for a game against the North Branford Thunderbirds.
After a scoreless first period, the Spartans dominated the second period.
At 6:23 Amity’s Jordan Conn made the first goal of the game, assisted by Ken Page and Jason Csejka.
Just 23 seconds, later Joey Schittina made another one for the Spartans.
Then, with only 2:17 remaining in the period, Amity’s Wes Perler got one in assisted by Colin Hughes and Michael Miller.
Third Period
With the Spartans ahead 3-0, it was time for the Thunderbirds to fight back, 6:15 passed before anyone scored, and it was North Branford’s Nick Bennett, unassisted at 2:45.
Just 22 seconds later, Nick Vecchio brought North Branford’s score to 2 on an assist from Brendan Dupuis.
Finally, at 1:08 Jason Csejka made the final goal of the game, assisted by Amity teammate Jordan Conn.
This win earned Amity qualified for the SCC Tournament. GO SPARTANS!
