Now You Can Fully Enjoy The Beauty Of The Ewen Farm Preserve

One positive aspect of 2020 was the increased use of town walking trails. One trail in Orange that remains relatively unused is the Ewen Farm Preserve. One reason for its not being used is that the trail is not clearly marked, and people may not be familiar with the path.
This link (shown below)which is on the Orange Conservation Committee website, is the orienteering directions to walk this trail, which begins at the intersection of Farm Hill Road and St Johns Drive. This walk of approximately 1 and 1/4 miles (about 30 minutes) and takes you past streams, a pond, and even a 75-yard boardwalk (pictured below) through wetlands to the Wepawaug River.
So grab your compass (or compass phone app) and try your hand at orienteering. The course includes comments on visual handrails and endpoints so that you can adjust for slight inaccuracies in direction or distance.
