Obituary: John J Verbiskas, 90, Beloved Uncle, Navy veteran

John Justin Verbiskas, 90, passed away on May 1, 2023, at his home in Orange.

John was born on December 5, 1932, in Scranton, PA to the late John and Anna Verbisky. Beloved husband of the late Gloria Ann Kasinskas Verbiskas.

John was a proud U.S. Naval Veteran and served during the Korean War. Following his service, he went on to have a successful career in engineering for Farrel-Birmingham Co. until his retirement. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling to different states with his hunting buddies in pursuit of his passions.

John is survived by his beloved niece Ellen Turschmann, nephews Joseph (Bridget), Andrew (Vicki), Edward (Debbie), Michael, and Clement (Ann) Kasinskas, John (Sylvana), and Donald (Irene) Stankus, Paul Bernier, Mark (Naomi) Kasinskas, Albert and Mary Ann Kacerguis. John is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Cody-White Funeral Home was entrusted with his funeral services, A Mass of Christian Burial took place at Holy Infant Church at 12 p.m. on Monday, May 15, followed by his burial at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
