Obituary: Ronald W. Mairano, 83, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather

Ronald W. Mairano, 83, of Orange, CT, passed away on August 2, 2024. Born on March 7, 1941, in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Julius and Ida Mairano. Ron was the beloved husband of Jeanne Mairano.
Ron and Jeanne recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised two beautiful children and have called Orange home throughout their marriage. A proud graduate of Hillhouse High School, class of ’59, and the Connecticut School of Electronics, Ron dedicated more than 50 years of his career as a manufacturing engineer at Norden Systems.
His passion for his home was evident in his love for DIY projects, maintaining his yard, and working on his own cars. Just a month ago, three generations of Mairano men, including Ron, his sons, and some of his grandsons, came together to build a back deck, showcasing his enduring spirit and family bond.
Although Ron was not an avid sports fan, he loved UConn basketball and he never missed a chance to cheer on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. He and his wife cherished their time together on cruises, exploring Italy three times, Alaska, and many tropical islands.
Known affectionately as “Gramps” by his grandchildren, he and his wife often treated them to special meals at Pop’s Family Restaurant. Ron’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will be cherished by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jeanne, Ron is survived by their two sons, Ronald C. Mairano and his wife Stacey, and Richard Mairano and his wife Carol, as well as six beloved grandchildren: Hayley, Ryan, Brittany, John, Charles, and Tate Mairano.
