The Milford Mall is scheduled to open today as usual after dozens of police responded there last night on reports of fights breaking out.
Officers from Orange, Stratford, State Police and West Haven came out to assist Milford Police during the incidents.
Orange native Connor Deane, who was at the mall, commented on our Facebook page about his experience.
“(It was) Insane! I was checking out at a store and heard screams. Next thing I knew security was screaming to lock doors and get customers out the utility doors. We were escorted out using the roof access,” he wrote. “Really scary! (I) thought there was an active shooter. Thankful to Milford and Orange PD for keeping us safe!”
This is the second consecutive year that teens have come to the mall on Dec. 26th and started fights.
According to sources, no arrests were made in Milford, but at the Trumbull Mall, where the brawling also has become an annual event, there was one arrest. Other Westfarms sites also saw similar incidents.
