On Thursday, January 1, Orange police responded to the area of Lambert Road and Shepard Lane for a motor vehicle accident at 2:23 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the driver, Kevin M. Callahan, 57, of Derby and noted that there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.
Callahan was asked to perform Standardized Sobriety Field Tests after which he was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Callahan posted a $500 bond and received a court date of Jan. 15.
