On Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2:55 p.m. Orange police responded to Woodland Lane in regards to a possible dispute.
Officers came into contact with a person who was fleeing the residence due to a dispute which turned physical. Investigation revealed that Jonathan A. Kaoud, 28, (no relation to the rug store) of Orange was the offender in this incident.
It also was discovered that this person had many orders of protection against Kaoud who had fled the scene but was taken into custody a short time later.
Kaoud was charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, four counts of violation of a protective order, interrupting an emergency call, disorderly conduct, interference/resisting arrest, fourth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny.
Kaoud was held on a $250,000 bond and received a court date of Feb. 14.
