Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Shop Rite, 259 Bull Hill Lane, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 8:50 p.m.
Officers spoke to Vanessa Guy, 37, of West Haven, who was accused of stealing $122 worth of merchandise. She fled but was stopped and taken into custody a short time later.
Guy was charged with sixth-degree larceny and interference/resisting arrest.
She was released on a promise to appear in court on March 5.
