On Sunday, Sept. 20, at 4:30 p.m., Orange police responded to Auto Zone at 150 Boston Post Road for a report of a motor vehicle repair scam.Investigation revealed that Jonathan J. Merchon, 26, of Hamden, had caused damage to a vehicle after performing illegal repairs on that vehicle.
Subsequently, Merchon was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal mischief and illegal motor vehicle repair.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 17.
