If you love your dog enough to buy them quality dog food, such as Hill’s Science Diet and Prescription Diet Canned Dog Foods, then you should be aware that there has been an extensive recall on many of these items due to elevated levels of Vitamin D.

This is for Canned Food Only Dry Food Varieties are Not included

Since the initial recall (which we had not been alerted to), hundreds of dogs have died from eating the food, and I truly hope that yours is not among them.

The above list was updated on March 21, 2019, about 2 months after the initial recall announcement.

All of the canned dog foods with these specific lot codes are being recalled because they may contain too much Vitamin D. According to the FDA, “While Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for dogs, ingestion of elevated levels can lead to potential health issues.”
