The Farmers’ Market will NOT take place at the Orange Fairgrounds this Thursday, Aug. 1, to make way for the annual Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival.
The carnival is important to the town because it provides funding to the volunteer organization with which the department can pay for training for the selfless men and women who VOLUNTEER to answer the call whenever they are needed to help a stranger or neighbor in an emergency.
The pavilion, where the Farmers’ Market always sets up, is home base for the main food pavilion, run by the firefighters and other volunteers. Proceeds from this location go to support the OVFD.
The Satellite Food Tent also is run by the volunteer firefighters and their family members working side by side with community volunteers. It is located by the fence on Orange Center Road.
Admission is free! So even if you’re not in the carnival mood, or if the weather seems a little dicey, you can help support the OVFD by picking up dinner to go! While you’re there walk another 50-feet and buy a raffle ticket or two.
Top Prize this year is a $10,000 Visa Gift Card. Can’t hurt to try!
