Results: Another Successful Shredding And Recycling Day

The Orange Recycling Committee hosted a very successful “Paper Shredding AND Mattresses & Box Springs AND Hazardous Waste AND Housewares, Toys & Clothing Recycling Event” at High Plains Community Center on Saturday, April 2.

Residents took advantage of the paper shredding opportunity and the line of cars was steady from the moment the truck was set up until the end. Once again tons of paper was securely shredded and 33 mattresses and box springs were collected by the Mattress Recycling Council’s “Bye Bye Mattress” team.

The Orange Community Women would like to thank everyone who participated in the Clothing and Household Goods Collection drive at the High Plains Pavilion on Saturday, April 2.

Before it was over, the women had collected 110 bags of soft items including clothing, shoes, accessories, stuffed animals, pocketbooks, sheets, blankets, curtains, towels and other household textiles. Along with 40 boxes of hard items including toys, dishes, small appliances, sporting goods, household décor and knick-knacks.

Everything went to the Savers store and the money they made from the donations will go out to the community in the form of scholarships and other charitable giving.

Dozens of residents made their way around the building to the designated area to dispose of their hazardous waste items at the Regional Water Authority’s HazWaste Central mobile unit.
