The Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, Orange, offers the following activities and events during the remainder of this month and in October.

Tween 3D Printing Workshop
Tuesday and Wednesday, September 20 and 21, 3:30 p.m.

For tweens in grades 4-6. Learn to print on a 3D printer! This in-person, two day workshop will show you how to design a simple object, make a blueprint, and print it out! Participants will need to bring a laptop computer (and power cord) and must have access to an email during the program. Registration is required. This event is led by Aditi Bhattamishra, a junior finalist in the Future Engineers 2018 Two for the Crew Challenge. Aditi, now a junior at Amity Regional High School, is currently working on a multi-year research project on prosthetics using CAD modeling and 3D printing.

The Bookcase Evening Discussion Group
Thursday, September 22, 7 p.m.
Join Bookcase leader Toby Zabinski for a discussion of Her Hidden Genius by Marie Benedict. Registration is required, as for online security reasons only registered attendees will be able to attend this event. Registered attendees will receive a Zoom link via email before the event.The registrant’s name as displayed on Zoom must match the name used for registration in order to guarantee admission.

Bluegrass Concert: Audrey Mae

Audrey Mae features the duet harmonies of bluegrass veterans Peter Winne and Joe Delillo accompanied by the tasteful stylings of banjo player Joe Lemeris. Despite being a generation apart, Winne and Delillo evoke brother harmony groups such as The Stanley Brothers, The Blue Sky Boys, The Everly Brothers, and yes, even The Beatles. Oscar Film: The Eyes of Tammy Faye

An intimate look at the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. PG-13. 2 hr. 6 min. Registration is required for all Oscar films. Please note that all indoor library program plans have been reviewed by the Orange Health Department for COVID-19 safety compliance. The Library may alter or cancel this program with minimal notice if health guidance changes after plans have been scheduled.

Toddler Take and Make: Feed the Monster
Monday, October 3

For toddlers (12 to 36 months) and their grownups. Create a fun toy for your toddler that will entertain them while they practice fine motor skills! Turn an oatmeal canister into a feedable monster with a mouth and a see-through stomach. We provide the oatmeal canister, a plastic bag, a monster, googly eyes, and of course, monster food (pompoms). Participants will need to supply glue, a craft knife or scissors, and optional wrapping paper. Registration is required; kits can be picked up in the Children’s Room between October 3 and October 8.

Take & Make Kit: Halloween Treat Bags
Tuesday, October 11

Create a Halloween tote bag for the child in your life. Choose your design at registration then pick up your kit to make your project at home or book an appointment to use the Library’s new Cricut Easy Press to complete your iron-on transfer. Most supplies will be provided. If you complete this craft at home you will need to provide an iron. Kits will be available for pickup from Tuesday, October 11 through Monday, October 17 at the first floor service desk.
