The Strawberry full moon will be at its peak illumination tonight, June 29, at 7:57 p.m. It is the first full moon of summer.
Don’t expect a beautiful red color, just a big, bright full moon.
The nickname originated from the Algonquian tribes in the northeastern US, due to its timing when most strawberries are ripe and ready to pick.
